December 19 - Goodwill Series will organize four teams to travel for the 18th annual tour of Australia. Players from all regions of USA will depart from Dallas and Los Angeles to Brisbane and Adelaide.Players ages 13-18 will be invited to participate. This year, we will have 5 players drafted and 12 players entering college baseball programs.
Our coaches are MLB pro scouts of the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays and the Florida Marlins catching coach.

This journey to the land "down under" will prepare you for your future career as a baseball player." You need to be in top physical and mental condition". The State Team Australian baseball player's are the best in their country. Many are professional players and Olympic team players.

"Dear Mr. Williams, Coach Charlie, Coach Tommy, Coach Chris and Coach Rob,
My sincere thanks for a trip of a lifetime and giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Chicago Cubs international team. This trip was not only about playing baseball in another country (and celebrating Christmas and New Year's Eve away from home, among strangers), but it also taught me a lot about myself.
Being the only player from Hawaii, not to mention only Asian, I was afraid of how I would be accepted by the rest of the team and also the residents of Australia. But, I brought along with me the "aloha" spirit from the islands and easily made friends. The team bonded immediately and I no longer was alone. I now had 15 brothers.
The tips you shared with me helped develop my game and I am grateful for your knowledge and wisdom.
I left the Hawaiian Islands as a newly turned 18-year old and returned two weeks later as a matured, confident, stronger minded baseball player.
Thank you for this once in a lifetime opportunity that I will never forget. I look forward to keeping in touch with all of you.

The Cubs '18 and under team coached by Cubs scout Charles Aliano.
Anthony Koller started the game and pitched 5 innings and Alex Quiros relief and earned the win. Evan Afenir was outstanding in the field and had the game winning hit [his 3rd hit for the game]. Garett Gandolfo also had 2 hits.
Record for the Cubs team is 9-2.

The Rays '16 and under played the 10th and 11th games in the 13 game Goodwill Series. Games were played at the Woodville Club.
This is our 18th year at the Woodville Club.
Rays scored 3 runs vs South Australia State '16 Team scored 3 runs
Henry Burch side- armed a complete game yielding 4 hits and striking out 6 batters. Juan Monreal had 2 hits.

Zack Stone from Eureka HS had 2 hits with 2 RBI's
Current Record for the Rays is 6 wins and 4 loss – one tie
The Cubs '18 and under team coached by Cubs scout Charles Aliano won 19-2 over the SA '18 STATE team.
Kevin Grendell pitched 5 innings of 2 hit baseball. Spencer Draws, Eric Hartshon, Rick Nomura, Anthony Koller and Alex Quiros all had multiple hits.
In the second game the Cubs team 7-6 against the SA "23 team.
Will Swartz hit a key double and pinch hitter Taylor Ward batted in the winning run in the 7th inning. Evan Afenir from Escondido HS, CA hit a HR and was on base 3 times in the team victory.

We are now in day #3 at the apple store, learning. learning to operate this "dam" computer. I would have frustrated "fun" probably feed this to the sharks. I am in the largest mall walked 1 mile from the parking lot to the Apple store."Unbelievable"!!! they are spending $$$$$$$$$$. In this Apple store are 200 people.

Chris Parmelee, Henry Wrigley and the Peoria Saguaros continued their hot play Thursday afternoon in a 14-5 romp over visiting Phoenix.
It was the third straight win for the Saguaros, who had not previously won consecutive games. They outscored their opponents, 35-13, in the three victories.
Parmelee, a 22-year-old Twins prospect, extended his hitting streak to nine games by going 4-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and a pair of RBIs. He scored four times and lifted his AFL batting average to .352.

Michael Kirkman joins the Texas Rangers
Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers today announced that lefthanded pitcher Michael Kirkman has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City of the Pacific Coast League. Kirkman (#62) will be on a major league active roster for the first time when he joins the Rangers against Baltimore.
Michael Kirkman traveled to Australia with the Goodwill Series teams in 2004.
