Game Four, 10 am: U18 Expos (4) v NSW (12) The Expos met some tougher pitching today and were not able to mount much offense. In addition, the defense made many errors that allowed runs to score for the opposition. They lost 12-4. Tom Rodriquez and anthony Marting pitched. Rodriquez struck out 2, walked 3, and gave up 4 hits, but had only 3 earned runs. Martin came in to relieve, striking out 3, walking 2, and giving up 3 hits. Ryan Hanlong trippled and scored when Sebastian Miles beat out a throw to 1st on a dropped called 3rd strike, saving the run. Blondin: 1 for 4; wightman: 0 for 4; Lindeke: 0 for 2, walk; Bommarito: 0 for 3; Hanlon, 2 for 3, run, tripple, double; Alexander: 0 for 3, 3 Ks; Kennedy: 0 for 2, walk; medal: 0 for 1, walk, 1 HP; Woodiss: 0 for 1, 1 K; Miles: 0 for 2, 2 Ks; Foreman: 0 for 1, 1 K. Game Five, 12 pm: U18 Expos (9) v NSW Country (14) This was a high scoring game, but the Expos came out on the short end. They hit well and scored, but their pitching did not hold up in the end. Logan Hannah, Sebastian Miles, Ross Blondin, and Tom Bommarito all pitched. Hannah struggled with finding the strike zone, walking 6 batters, 5 of whom scored. Miles held down the opposition, but eventually gave up 6 hits, with 6 runs coming across. Blondin then relieved, stopping the other team for an inning, but then giving up 5 hits and 2 walks. Bommarito got the final out with a strike out, but gave up three hits. The Expos scored 5 runs in the first inning, then came back in the 3rd to score 4 more. It was not enough. Blondin: 1 for 3, walk, 2 runs, HR, 3 RBIs; Foreman: 2 for 4, 2 runs, tripple; bommarito: 0 for 2, walk, sac fly, RBI; Hanlon: 2 for 3, walk, run, RBI; Lindeke: 1 for 4, run RBI,K; Rodriquez: 0 for 2, 2 walks, run; Bohannon: 3 for 4, run,&nb! sp;RBI, 2 doubles; Alexander: 0 for 3, walk, HP, RBI, 2 Ks; Wightman: 0 for 2, walk, RBI. |
