First Day of Games: Astros Vs. South Australia Under 16 Rural Team Monday the 16th marked the first day of the Goodwill Series Baseball tournament in Adelaide, Australia. It began as the Astros faced the South Australia Under 16 Rural Team, and took home a 14 - 3 win. Brandt Walker pitched the first two innings before being relieved by Mitchell Westbury. The score was tied 3 - 3 in the top of the sixth when the Astros bats went on a role, scoring eleven runs in the next two innings. The Man of the Match (the equivalent of a MVP) as elected by the opposing team's coaches was David DiNatale.
The Brewers and the South Australia Under 18 Rural team faced off in a close game today, with the brewers bagging a 1 - 0 win. Paul Garritson and Andy Saastamoinen shared the pitchers mound, with Saastamoinen being named Man of the Match. Mariners Vs. South Australia Under 14 Team The Mariners claimed their first victory today against the South Australia Under 14 Team with a final score of 8 - 2. Isamu McGregor and Garrett Trezona pitched, with Isamu McGregor coming away as Man of the Match. |
