Perth, Western Australia Report: Dec 27, 2004

Monday

18 and Under

4 – 3, Western Australia

The WA Under 18 State Team defeated the Brewers 18 and Under Team in extra innings by only one run. The Brewers were consistently strong in their pitching as they held WA to just one hit. Despite this effort, the pitching staff allowed nine walks, which in the final analysis cost the Brewers the game. The Brewers were held to just four hits scattered throughout the line up by Emory Oese-Siegel (New York), Will Prichard (Florida), Steven Karwatt (Florida) and Eric Fry (Louisiana).

As coach Charlie Aliano demonstrated a positive attitude through tense competition, so did the players on the Brewers 18 and Under team. Coach Aliano was impressed with both the hard play and "good chin" up sportsmanship exhibited by the team.

Tanner Hoechlin (California) provided a game opening double and later scored on his second hit of the day, a single to right field.
