18 and Under

13 - 4, Brewers 18 and Under

Taking the Aussie's 13 to 4 in five innings, the Brewer's put out an overall better fundamental effort than previously. Relieving Carmine Giardina (Florida), game MVP Tim Rodriguez (California) pitched five innings of shut out ball. Josh Prince (Louisiana) had two hits including a double and Eric Fry (Louisiana) hit a home run.

Coach Charlie Aliano and pitching Coach Tom Clark reported that the players put together a team effort and were now acclimated to the Australian environment.

16 and Under Double Header

Game I

10 - 1, Brewers 16 and Under

Today's double header brought in two wins for the 16 and Under Team. In the first game, pitcher Shane Grayson (California) went four innings with no runs and two strike outs and earned MVP designation for the game. Tanner Hoechlin (California) had two RBI's and two stolen bases. Mitchell Rosowitz (Arizona) tripled to outfield and and Kai Ribao (Hawaii) had three stolen bases. Closing pitcher Matt McGee had two innings of shut out ball.

Coaching staff of Stewart Smothers, Kyle Dunning and Thomari Story-Harden said the boys played hard, commenting that the winning combination of outstanding team effort and individual play brought the Brewers 16 and Under team to victory.

Game II

13 - 5, Brewers 16 and Under

Setting the tone for Game II was Tanner Hoechlin (California), game MVP. Hoechlin's skill at base running put pressure on the opposing pitcher when he stole second, than ran home to score on two over throws. Pitcher, Frankie Giorgi (California) went three for three scoreless innings with five strike outs. Chris LoPiccolo (California) hit a home run, two RBI's and a single. Blake Pennington (California) went two for three and pitcher and Yale Eckert (California), closed with no runs and two strike outs.

Coach Stewart Smothers credited the focus and instinct of key players for putting the opposing team on edge, thus opening the way for the win for the Brewers 16 and Under team against South Australia.

Brewers Rookies, 14 and Under

13 - 8, Brewer's 14 and Under

It proved to be a big day for the Rookies. Mitchell Thompson (California) went four for four, including three triples and batting in five runs and was the closing pitcher. Greg Zebrack (California) earned game MVP by pitching three scoreless innings and going three for four. John Geer (Tennessee) hit a solo home run inside the park.

Overall, Coach Thomari Story- Harden said it was an offensive day for the Brewers Rookies Team.
