USA BREWERS 16 AND UNDER DEFEAT SOUTH AUSTRALIA
It was a glorious ride to the top for the USA, beating the boys from "downunder" 7 - 4.
This decisive victory came after a 2 run shortfall for the USA in the 4th inning.
Shane Delligatta of Ohio made a sacrifice bunt to bring in a runner. Game MVP,
Yale Eckert of California, followed with a big hit for an RBI to tie the game.
Tanner Hoechlin from California came on strong offensively and had two RBI's.
In the final inning, Eckert pitched under loaded pressure - bases loaded -
with two outs and struck out his opponent for the win.
The coaching team of Stewart Smothers, Thomari Story-Harden, and pitching coach Kyle Dunning was satisfied with the team effort, instinct and spirit. Head Coach Smothers reported that the Brewer's 16 and Under Team pulled together to make the win and represent the USA well.
